Know Yourself

Sometimes understanding yourself, 

Means understanding who you're not, 

You're not what's in your shelf, 

You're not the things you were taught. 

You're not your own age, 

You're not your own weight, 

You're not your own stage,

You're people's amazing mate.   

You're what you believe in, 

You're the books you read, 

You're the places you've been, 

You're the one you need. 

You're the song in the deserted heart,

You're the photos hanging on your wall, 

You're the perfect piece of art, 

You're the best amongst them all.  

You're fearfully and wonderfully made, 

You're the head and not the tail, 

Above and not beneath like a shade, 

People forget this when their minds are in jail. 

Never define yourself by what you're not, 

You're the leader for this next generation, 

Your words are their food for thought, 

You will transform every nation. 

Know Yourself
