Lighthouse

Help the ships see all the rocks,
Help them come safely to the shore,
Guide them safely through their talks,
Save them from wind from offshore.

A tower that emits light from lamps,
A navigational aid for maritime pilots,
It also shines on people in camps,
The ones so undeserving are pirates.

You provide safe entries to harbours,
You also assist in aerial navigation,
A comfortable place for neighbours,
A greatest citizen in this nation.

There is light in this house,
The light that shines at night,
There is light in your spouse,
This light that makes things bright.

It helps you see where you can't see,
It helps you land safely in new places,
For your safety this light is the key,
It helps you see brand new faces.

Fire Fighter

One day I decided to be a writer,
To shine the spark even brighter,
Hold hands of the hopeless, tighter,
Most importantly help a fire fighter.

We all got caught up in the flame,
We didn't look for anybody to blame,
Woke up each day with the aim,
Our lives were never the same.

Fire fighters run away from the truth,
They want to control their own youth,
They live in the smallest phone booth,
Dial up then you'll begin to soothe.

Don't live to survive but live to thrive,
Invite every flame within you to live,
Everything you want you must give,
Then you will daily come alive.

Open your eyes and you will see,
A paid price with no single fee,
Open door who gives you the key,
Cut your chains and set you free.

Undercover

Often in movies police go undercover,
Find truth before criminals discover,
They do it to see a better change,
Gain trust and that love exchange.

Undercover people have a vision,
Use their cover in every decision,
They even get new identification,
They fight to see a better nation.

If you want success go undercover,
Let pride go, don't blow your cover,
So far, you'll be before they realise,
Greatness will then materialise.

All your life you've had a helper,
He's came to make you better,
Your life will be filled with joy,
Things around you to enjoy.

Someone was fighting your battles,
I can hear a loud sound that rattles,
As you walk, He has a lot to prove,
As you talk, He has a lot to move.

Lead with Speed

People want a leader they can trust,
A leader who sees growth as a must,
Someone who has a clear vision,
Who gives his followers a revision.

Someone who will make things grow,
Teach his followers the right flow,
Someone who will lead with speed,
Simultaneously plant a good seed.

A leader that will influence others,
Grow together like blood brothers,
Doctors come from just a mister,
Great lawyers come from a sister.

Normalcy one day has to change,
Only you have to then rearrange,
Great leaders produce other leaders,
They're all a group of good readers.

Leaders have a senseless vision,
They stay on track to follow a mission
They show people that they truly care
Through the ups and downs they're there.

African Queen

Show the world that you're so strong,
Make me proud of being an African,
No tap, just the journey, too long,
Survive, save, succeed yes we can.

African Queen
You are the beauty of Mother Africa,
Our joy is through your strength,
Our extended family is in America,
Increase all their great lives' length.

African Queen
Strongly stomp the yard with pride,
25 litres on your head is an exercise,
Your talents will be known worldwide,
One day you'll have your own enterprise.

African Queen
Study hard even when it's hard to study,
Slippery stones, so is that corporate ladder,
You'll always succeed if hardship is your buddy,
After all is said and done, you're a born leader

Light the Lamp

As lamps light people's ways,
The world brings brand new days,
As we share with others our wisdom,
The world can witness our freedom.

Light the Lamp
Always keep your lamp on fire,
Blend your voices like a choir,
Providing light from the tiniest spark,
Walking in the light, making a mark.

Light the Lamp
Paint the canvas of a new wonder,
A brand new call just like thunder,
Keep on until the world finally get it,
I'll keep going a winner never quit.

Light the Lamp
The light is there to give you direction
Clarify and simplify your connection,
Invite others where you already know,
Direct them to where they need to go.

Hello Vision

You turned into lots of pages,
You took me to different stages,
You hand picked all of my friends,
Your jealousy surely never ends.

You then became clear and simple,
It's my focus and mission you triple,
You became imaginable and visual,
Simply straightforward and original.

You have two sisters with love exchange
They are both focused on change,
Also have two brothers to be precise,
They both always demand sacrifice.

You're difficult, impossible to achieve,
Personified by the leader, never leave,
You daily provide me with lyricism,
Presented with contagious optimism.

Relentlessly stated and restated, light
Personal, out of reach not out of sight
A broad vista, not a detailed plan
A friend to every woman and man.

Hold My Hand

Stand where I don't understand,
When my feet can't touch the land,
And I can't see the colour of the sand
I can't go back to the motherland.

Incase I accidentally fall in the water,
I have to get up to see my daughter,
Historians told me to be a lawyer,
All I ever wanted was to be an author.

Who cares what the world really say,
No one is on this earth to really stay,
I won't waste my breath a single day,
Trying to do things people's way.

As I walk in the water I see your face,
You'll always be my dwelling place,
Your special place none can replace,
You're full of love and full of grace.

You guide my feet whenever I walk,
You conduct my tongue when I talk,
For ages you've always been my rock
I open all doors whenever you knock.

Faith is Your Friend

When you have nobody to rely on,
All your earthly friends are gone,
When nobody is willing to help you,
All your mates have something to do.

Faith is Your Friend
Recession took away your job,
Too much pain, you want to stop,
Your girl left you for another man,
Your man left 'cause of another plan.

The Red Sea behind you will close,
The lifestyle you never chose,
You'll miss the pay forgetting the pain
Miss their food forgetting the chain.

Love is measured by investment level
You pay to live higher than in the stable,
The man in love supports his family,
He invests in their house happily.

After all is said and done,
You ought to have lots of fun,
Your Facebook and Twitter friends go,
Turn off your iPad, iPhone and always know.

Faith is Your Friend

Reserved Oil

As I was walking down the street,
Ten virgins had a bridegroom to meet,
Five were foolish and five were wise,
The foolish were in for a big surprise.

They took lamps but never took oil,
They knew the shops it was no toil, Faraway bridegroom, no jeep to beep
They became drowsy and fell asleep.

Then the cry rang out at midnight
It was time to shine bright each light,
All woke up and trimmed their lamps,
It wasn't like one of the fancy camps.

The foolish failed to use the capacity,
The wise virgins had inner tenacity,
They all had the same activity,
But some failed to plan for longevity.

The door was shut out of the blue,
Don't let the door shut on you,
There's a crack in the door you'll find,
Live each day with eternity in mind.

Farewell Daddy

Father why did you have to leave me now?
You were the hope I needed in my life,
You could have taught me things you know,
But now all I am left with is a strife.

My family is going to miss you,
You bragged about your children's grades,
Loving and warm is what you used to do,
All we will walk with now is our shades.

You loved me regardless of what I did,
You supported me in all that I chose,
Your deepest, innermost feelings you hid,
When we'll meet again, nobody really knows.

You left some of your family behind,
'Till we meet again, you'll always be in my mind.

Farewell Daddy

Is It Worth It?

Choosing a career to please others?
Trying to fit in with all your friends?
Holding a grudge on your brothers?
This crazy behaviour never ends.

Is It Worth It?
Having a big house but no time?
Choosing a career over family?
To be wealthy out of a silly crime?
Having a big car, but poor financially?

Is It Worth It?
Giving your time to a smart phone?
Spending more time on Facebook?
Being in the crowd but in your zone?
Reading tweets not your faith book?

Is It Worth It?
These gadgets replaced who we are,
Social media made us unsocial,
Some are bullied and left with a scar,
Smart phones made us dumb and antisocial.

Is It Worth It?

Baby's Safe Sleep

Babies understand day and night as they grow,
Sleep the baby from back from birth, a sky toe,
After 3 months, babies will sleep 13-15 hours a day,
Parents keep your babies in the same room for a year I'll say.

The head and face must be uncovered,
These are the safest tips research discovered,
Let your baby soothe to sleep for a flat trajectory that is right,
By 6months 66% wakes up once a week or not at all in the middle of the night.

Bedding must be comfortable and perfectly safe,
Safe crib, firm mattress, no space in between is extra safe,
Flannel-backed, waterproof mattress pad, that is cooler and comfortable,
Remember that your baby is vulnerable.

A sheet must fit snugly around the mattress,
You want your baby to be safe so give yourself a practice,
Sleepers, infant sacks and pyjamas with feet,
You don't want to overwhelm the baby with heat.

Keep that room between16-20 degrees celsius,
Remember that the baby is even more precious,
Buy a thermometer to check that the temperature is constant
No hat in doors and that is important.

As I Grow

I'm writing you a poem that will flow,
My time was planned long time ago,
Growing up so fast, mum's belly can show,
Before you know it, I'll be saying hello.

It's so great being a small cute baby,
Knowing you're loved by your mum and daddy,
I'll just cry and they'll change my nappy,
And that alone makes me so happy.

They'll take me to the pool and to the park,
See the sea we'll imagine Noah's ark,
We'll wait to see whales and perhaps a shark,
We'll have a great time until it's dark.

I'll then call you two for us to hang out,
I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about,
We'll have heaps of fun no doubt,
What will we be doing? I guess we'll have to find out.

Take me to different, but interesting events,
Show off to your friends my many talents,
I'll give you more info after my appearance,
For now I'm just asking you two to be my God Parents.

I Look To You

As I keep dwelling on this feeling,
Internal wounds hardly have healing,
Outside people look more appealing,
Inside, well, a lot they ain't revealing.

When challenges are on my face,
I seek for your dwelling place,
I wake up early and join the race,
I look to you and I find loving grace.

When friends and family are gone,
Melodies and choruses to dwell on,
Poetry and verses in the dawn,
To your heart, my heart is drawn.

When my strength comes to an end,
I'll still have your house to attend,
Cars to buy and houses to extend,
I'll still have you as a loving friend.

You can make old things new,
Attached on you just like a glue,
There's nothing I won't get through,
I've always known this to be true.

Seashore

Gently rest my arms around yours,
Welcome me like opened doors,
Somehow you always pull me back,
Waves are gone, it's your love I lack.

When the storms out there are heavy,
You pull me and become my levee,
The wind pushes me towards you,
Your love for me is always true.

The blue sky is gone, I see the rain,
In times of pain you are my terrain,
After all my strength is gone,
I'll always look to you alone.

After I've tried all my possible best,
You are my dwelling place to rest,
I lay me down and enjoy your art,
Joyfully listen to the beat of your
heart.

Your view brings way more clarity,
I'm forever grateful for my dexterity,
The rain always fall from above,
Ends up beneath like circles of love.

The Zoo

There were tussling tigers,
Now rear the world requires,
There was a creeping crocodile,
That didn't move for a while.

We saw leaping leopards,
They didn't need shepherds,
Then there were slithering snakes,
Don't get bitten do whatever it takes.

Then there were lazing lizards,
They didn't entertain any wizards,
Then we saw chomping chimps,
Some people gave them a glimpse,

Then we saw cute cuddling koalas,
They didn't cause any funny dramas,
Then there wombling wombats,
We played it safe no direct contacts.

Stairway Make My Way

I searched for you the other day,
Through you I'll learn words to say,
Climbing steps to the top to stay,
Holding hands, moving up to pray.

Stairway Make My Way
Take me to the awesome upper room,
Share the fragrance of your perfume,
You foreknew me from mom's womb,
Oiled up to meet the bridegroom.

Stairway Make My Way
Let me see the way you see the land,
Lift my feet up and squeeze my hand,
Stand me up if I don't understand,
Walk me through this fatherland.

Stairway Make My Way
Let us view together that blue sky, Enjoy the view as the birds fly,
You can take me up so high,
Only you can truly satisfy.

Stairway Make My Way
You constantly pull me above,
You give me peace like a dove,
You give me sleep or lack thereof,
After all is said and done you give me love.

Freely Falling

Surely this is my designated calling,
Never run before you start crawling,
This loving fire inside me is burning,
Giving me wings so that I'll start flying.

Your brightness describes you,
Your power is in what we do,
You make old things new,
You always carry me through.

You take me to new heights,
Comfort me through the night,
On my face you shine bright,
In you there's my delight.

I'm going to make my joy soundly,
Enjoy each and every minute hourly,
Let's enjoy this presence loudly,
It's far where I'm from so I'll say it proudly.

I'm the product of my own thoughts,
In my life I had to undo grass knots,
And then try to connect destiny dots,
The more strength I produced, I regained lots.

Light

Shine on me through the night,
Make every wrong thing right,
All the times take my fight,
In darkness clear my sight.

You are the light that shines bright,
You pull me up to an infinite hight,
Loosen every knot that is tight,
Fly me freely like a kite.

You've washed every sin white,
You've made every burden light,
In transition you were my flight,
Your wisdom daily inspires me to write.

Baby Shower

It's the Queens birthday holiday,
Mainly the baby shower is today,
Prepared food 'till late last night,
I'm not invited so I won't get a bite.

I baked and prepared with my wife,
We both enjoyed the circles of life,
Received lots of gifts and blessings,
Love and support we're expressing.

Whatever date and time it may be,
We can’t wait to meet our baby,
Her song is twinkle twinkle little toes,
Perfect lips and perfect nose.

Ten tiny fingers, ten tiny toes,
She's amazing everybody knows,
Pinch moments I'm daily having,
My little girl is finally arriving.

Lots of tickling and lots laughing,
Lots of smiling and lots of dancing,
Every moment we'll daily enjoy,
This is a lively loving house with joy.

Community

We now live in diverse community,
Multicultural in common unity,
Different food, rapport opportunity,
We need more people with humility.

Painting is a language we need,
We need new brains to succeed,
We need words like a powerful seed,
New nations that will always read.

There's a community in your body,
Faith, fear, doubt you all embody,
All these and more, from everybody,
These all can coexist in anybody.

After all these, faith is a perspective,
We choose what is more effective,
Applying wisdom, creatively selective,
Faith is something that is connective.

Choices each morning are up to you,
Reaping and sowing, you daily do,
Connect with your core, just you two,
Then you'll grow and this is true.

Shine

A smile a day can change everything,
Be generous, a smile is also giving,
Life is really something we all share,
Just like space and oxygen in the air.

Don't just live, be filled with joy,
Be outgoing make sure you enjoy,
Wake up each morning with a song,
In your own heart it should belong.

Always have a positive attitude,
Live each day with gratitude,
You are more than a conqueror,
Whatever comes you're stronger.

The Baby is Coming

Woman, breathe, relax, stay active,
Listen, don't panic, remain positive,
Have birth preference, hydrate, eat,
Lots of heat, no tweet, baby secrete.

Have blankets, pillows, position, push
Get ready to witness a burning bush,
It's a miracle having a hypno birthing, Every woman wants a calm birthing.

Men, relax, be prepared, don't faint,
You have your baby's room to paint,
Massage your better half, stay calm,
Be present, advocate, read a psalm.

Communicate, if needs be get drugs,
Stay focused, be patient, lots of hugs
Provide physical support and security
Birth rooms ain't for the community.

Environment this is the real moment, Music, lighting, fit-ball for this event,
Water, heat pack, man, no six pack,
DVD distraction, candles, remember to pack.
