Triolet Poem

This is how you write a Triolet Poem
fixed rhythmical form, with repeated lines
It is made up of eight lines with a set rhyming scheme
This is how you write a Triolet Poem
And this is how I learn things, I start by learning the rules of a poem or a piano etc. after that I'm living the dream
My mind is unstoppable and it's constantly breaking new grounds
This is how you write a Triolet Poem
fixed rhythmical form, with repeated lines
AB, aA, abAB

Free Birds

Some birds aren't meant to be caged,
They are meant to shine and staged,
Shine with their bright feathers,
Shoot so high and light the sky for others.

When they fly they leave guilt in their prisoners,
Their wings tell meaningful stories to listeners,
They chase the core of their beings,
After all is said and done we are all human beings.

The mark on our skins is from the chains you created,
The reason behind all this, well we could have debated,
But now, there's no point 'cause the scars are permanent,
It's the remainder of our future that's still imminent.

Now that we are young and free we're like the birds that left you dry,
Yes we did cry, no we didn't die, we're more proud than ever before do you wonder why?
You came and found us happy in our land of plenty,
But now we are free like birds and we left you with a cage that is empty.

A Good Poem

A good poem is one that communicates a strange, unique idea that would have been impossible to write out in prose.

Open My Heart

When my daughter opens the fridge and cries, she knows that I'm going to get her something very yummy to eat.
When I open my heart and cry I know that God is going to get me something very special  that will completely change my life. 😃

Everything I Do

Everything I do, I do it to transform people’s lives for better. I want to see people overcoming challenges they face in life. In my lifetime I want to see everybody living a better version of themselves. I believe that transforming the way one thinks, will transform his/her results in life.

The way I transform people’s lives is through poetry, motivation and music. Poetry that is easy to read, engaging, inspiring and deeply thought. Motivation that saves people’s lives in all corners of the world. Music that is written to speak directly to one’s heart, encouraging and life changing.

I have books and music that you can get to experience all these first hand. Please visit my website to have your own: https://www.percyspoems.com/

Joy

Joy
Is the yellow colour, blessing us with a bright ray of sunshine.
It happens when a person opens his heart to positivity.
It sounds like intricate melody played by professionals
And smells like a rose garden.

Learning

In life I've learnt both from people with everything and nothing to show for but love,
People who have made it in life,
Who have mastered their purpose,
Who have more than enough.

I've also learnt from a kid on the street with no shoes singing happy songs,
From a homeless man talking about how blessed he is,
From a single mother with lots of children to feed and no money,
Life is a university where different subjects will determine your wisdom.

A Good Poem

A good poem is one that communicates a strange, unique idea that would have been impossible to write out in prose. I suppose everybody enjoys poetry.
I've never met any person who don't like any type of music, therefore they also like poetry. They just don't know it yet.
Some music comes from poetry and some poetry comes from music.

I've met people who really love my poems that they tell me they never loved poetry before they heard mine. I think it's our duty as poets to carry the music rhythm even when it's not there.
We should recite our poems as we are writing them so that it will be easier to perform them later on.
The rhythm should be so strong in our minds, then we can later portray it to the audience.

Words Count

It is in poetry where I started to count words,
They say sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me. That's a lie.
Words can make or break a person,
Be Careful of each and every little thing you do and every word you say,
They say actions speak louder than words, which means your movements are part of writing the history for this world.

Instead of just keeping quite when we don't have positive words to say,
We also stand still until we have a plan for our next move,
Think before you speak, speak life in another person's life,
Think before you move, move with passion, diligence and intentionality.

Do It Differently

After is all said and done, it's time to get back to the drawing board but this time do it differently.
