Everyone is Selling

These days if you don't know how to sell you lose business,

In this busyness of life people don't have time to go to the shops,

If your business is not online it's like it don't exist.

Doctors are selling their services for patients to turn up,

Accountants are selling their services for patients to turn up,

Lawyers are selling their services for clients to turn up,

Airlines are selling their services for the customers to turn up.

Everyone needs people skills, no matter what you're doing in life,

You need to show people why you're the best in what you do,

You need to be able to communicate and connect with your clients in a simplest possible way.

Letting Go

Letting go feels really hard at first, but you feel much better as time progresses.

No Room at All

I've seen a woman in labour,

She can scream at night and wake up any neighbour,

She doesn't care about doing anyone any favour,

It's hard labour one minute turns into one hour.

No Room at All

They told Mary there was no room at all,

A King of kings who came to save us all was neglected by them all,

Joseph couldn't even make the phone call,

No one offered a comfortable place even so small.

No Room at All

My life is full of love there's no more space,

I am embraced and saved by God's grace,

I'm overflowing with His presence in this place,

Everyone who believes is constantly seeking His face.

No Room at All

It's too late there's no room for hate,

I use all my days to celebrate,

Jesus installed love and taught me to wait,

He can surely pick up any heavy weight.

No Room at All

No room to hide, no room rest,

No room to rest apart from His chest,

That's why I dress the way I want to be addressed,

Even if there's no room, I know that I'm eternally blessed.

No Room at All

Undo Button

As a person who is always writing I've learnt tricks and tips to undo typing. Like shaking my iPhone or going to recently deleted or plugging my iPhone to the computer to recover my notes etc.  But one thing I've learnt as a writer that is time consuming but that is more useful is to rewrite everything from memory.

This way if you are serious about writing you'll improve your skills, exercise your muscle memory and do better next time.

More Than One Career

I've always felt like one career is never enough for me,
Dynamics, change and growth is what I've always wanted to see,
It's a personality thing I know,
Some people are happy doing one thing and that's ok, doing something they've started long time ago.

I've had lots of work experience in different roles,
Including managing teams of more than 30 people, different work cultures and helped companies in different countries achieve their goals,
I think that's why I excelled in Psychology in a Work Context at Uni,
I've seen past experiences affecting current behaviour, people who were always moody.

I've taken time to understand them and it's always because of the bad experiences from the past,
I confirmed this as they opened up at last,
I've enjoyed giving encouraging words that shaped their future,
I walked in their shoes and painted a new brighter picture.

I'm a communicator, I love to read, write, sing, dance and connect with people,
For all the experience I've had so far in my life I'll forever be grateful,
I've climbed on the shoulders of great men in history,
To them I accredit all my victory.

If I had to do it again, I'd do it exactly the same,
Some people I've met at work 10 years ago, heard my name and caught up the flame,
They still call me even today because we connected heart to heart,
Working in different places gave me the opportunity to work with different people; and I gave them the same passion I give my art.

Drop Your Net

Leave everything that is familiar,
Go to the world that is unfamiliar,
Have faith and leave your comfort zone,
Follow your heart and go to the world of the unknown.

There are so many rewards in doing this,
Embrace the challenges and things you'll miss,
That's just temporary, there's eternal life ahead of you,
Hearing God's voice will change the things you do.

Leave the things of this natural world,
Follow the supernatural power that's in His word,
Burn the bushes you've created,
Remember that just for you, He patiently waited.

Pull your net up from the sea,
It's time to open your eyes and see,
Life is not what it seems,
This mission is way bigger than just your dreams.

Seek Him, find Him and love Him,
He's near, He's in this poem, He's in a hymn,
There's a voice calling you from the distance,
Make a move and don't miss this unique chance.

I Really Love This

Today's performance don't miss it.

All I needed to do was to start,

You don't have to be great to start but you have to start to be great,

I've started following my heart,

Writing songs, short stories and poems that will inspire another mate,

I started believing in myself and let nothing or no one come between me and my art.

I love mountains, rivers and seas because men are wild at heart,

All men who want to see a better version of themselves can relate,

We were created from dust from the start that's why we love to co-create and play our part,

No matter what else I do in life any other job I can excel in, me and my art will never be apart.

Mandela Day Melbourne

On the 18th of July 1918 Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born,
An anti-apartheid revolutionary, a politician, my hero,
A philanthropist, a first black South African President he'll never be really gone,
A grandfather who rose the country from ashes of zero to hero.

I remember when I paid Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia a visit,
Most people struggled with English but when I told them that I'm from South Africa they all said, "Nelson Mandela",
I finally got it, this man was not just my hero as a black man, 'till this day he is the world's icon and my people love it,

Last week Saturday it was Mandela Day here in Melbourne,
I had the privilege of performing in a big crowd,
Music and poetry is what I was created to do since I was born,
To speak and share my heart and make my people proud.

When I was on stage I had an aha moment,
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for this great man we are celebrating,
It would have been illegal to even be with my wife that I love a 1000 percent,
Yes, of cos I've always known that a 100 percent was never enough since we started dating.

Now, here I am standing on the precipice of my career,
In a place I've never imagined I'd be, before this man set us free,
All I can hear is a sound of good cheer,
This freedom is the key and it's more than what people see, it's definitely way beyond me.

Rain (imagery)

the sound got me
outside
a brown
deck
glazed with rain
water
near green leaves
under the blue
whipping sky.

Would You Care to Share?

Sharing is caring sounds like a cliché,

But kindness moves us in a unique way,

My daughter always comes with two fruits and say,

"Here is your fruit daddy", I never thought I'd see this day.

It's not even her second birthday,

She's looking after me and not outside for a play,

I hope this kindness is here to stay,

That way she'll make me proud 'til I'm grey.

Little people remind us the importance of small things,

Like the symbolism of two rings,

The joy that the marriage brings,

God and the couple form three strongest strings.

Would You Care to Share?

The reality is, sometimes your family will drive you mad,

But life is too short for you to remain sad,

Blood is thicker than water look at what you have and be glad,

Whatever it is they put you through, it can't be that bad.

Share the love with another brother,

Take care of your sister,

Love your mother and father,

Just take care of one another.

Fatherhood

When these strong hands are holding my tiny daughter,
We tell each other how much we love each other,
This love is like love from my Heavenly Father,
It is strong, it is pure it is deep like water.

What a privilege, what an honour to have her as my own,
Now that's how God feels when He looks at me,
That's why I strive to be the best dad I can be,
To make her happy, make her proud and my love for her is always known.

How can something so tiny be so perfect,
These tiny fingers, tiny hands and tiny toes,
My God is so big and loving and that's why it's me He chose,
To love this little human being and to always protect.

My role is to always protect and protect and protect,
Protect her from that table she likes to climb,
To that hot food she eats at dinner time,
She's so smart, for her I only have so much love and respect.

We play so many games together,
We sing, we dance and we laugh so loud our stomachs hurt,
Literally, I slide my feet on the wooden floor just to hear her say be careful daddy,
She's less than two and she started long ago feeding herself even her brekkie,
My love for her will remain forever.

Music Dance and Poetry

Today I'll be doing all of that
Federation Square is where I'll be at
Doing this and that while wearing a hat
Then after that I'll be having a chat.

Me and my art we have chemistry
Whatever we produce turns to be heavenly
This art on its own is pure therapy
We real and we heal we are remedy.

Bike Ride

We've waited for a while for this one
Together we used to go for a run
Ride the bikes and had great fun
It became harder when we had our first one
With the grandparents we can now run with none
As long as we eat this workout thing will never be done.

We really enjoyed our bike ride
Ridding along side by side
Spending quality time is our pride
Having a picnic along the riverside
Since I met her my to dos are no longer hard to decide
That's why I made my best friend my bride.

A Play in the Park

What a beautiful day

So without any delay

Nala and I decided to have a play

We sang and danced on our way

And ran towards the driveway

Even though it was a workday

We treated it as our holiday

And that's how we spent our Friday

We live on earth to make a mark

We created fire by lighting a spark

Living life like the sea and the shark

Our resemblance is like a birthmark

Cocooned to float on water like a dark

But hey, what's the dark without a quack

Love is our trademark

So we played the ball before it was dark

There's a journey for us to embark and it involves;

Thousand Words

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words,

Then I shall be silent and let these moments speak in my world,

Like my two gorgeous girls, I'll let them speak on my behalf,

And let this funny thing called life makes me laugh.

Yes I said funny thing, because life is what you make it,

You can still laugh at your own challenges while others quit,

Laughing no matter how you feel is much better according to me,

This will automatically change the atmosphere and the way you see.

You see, the more we spend time with those we love the better,

Playing, singing, dancing or reciting poetry it doesn't really matter,

Lying down under the shade on a hot day,

Snuggling under the blanket on a cold winter brings that closeness I'd say.

Pause, take a picture, those moments frozen in time,

Every time I spoke my heart I started to rhyme,

That's when I realised that my subconscious mind breathes poetry,

So seat back, relax and enjoy, I hope no one is in a hurry.

Let my poetry speak to you in a thousand ways,

Let my humour, my art and life bring you better days,

Let my silent moments and pauses be like gentle breeze,

I'm on my knees, please let these moments seize you with ease.

Thousand Words

Sunday School

When I was young I used to go to Sunday school,

My friends and I thought it was really cool,

We used to read kid's bible,

We were one really cool tribe.

My grandmother was a Pastor,

My parents were also Pastors, Church was one of the houses at home,

It was a few steps away, not as far as Rome.

Now this is where you come in,

Invite people where they've never been,

Tell them to enter in and let their great lives begin,

There's a person who wants to be greater deep within.

Jesus is knocking at the door,

He wants to pick those who are on the floor,

He wants to bring change,

He has their lives to rearrange.
