Leap Year

Today is extra special, it's a leap day, 

A very significant day of the year I'd say, 

Today only happens in four years, 

Happy birthday is music to her ears, 

For some people birthdays are a long wait, 

Together we're celebrating a day so great, 

Let's celebrate it while it lasts, another one is nowhere near, 

This is it the 29th day of February gave us another leap year. 

Marriage

Marriage was designed by God, 

If couples get confused they must ask him, 

He is mighty, powerful, He is The Lord, 

They must sing the same hymn. 

They must find a common ground, 

Pray and seek The Lord together, 

In unity make a joyful sound, 

Hold each other's hands in love forever.

She came to me with dimples smile, 

So happy to be in my arms, 

She stays there for a while,

Resting on my chest and forearms.

Angels east, angels west, 

North and south just do your best, 

To guard her and watch her while she rest. 

Little Girl I Know

There's this little girl I know,

Everyone who see her says hello, 

She stole my heart from the start, 

It's really hard for us to be apart. 

She enjoys every warm snuggle, 

Cute little piece of the puzzle, 

She is my light, my joy, my friend, 

My love for her will never end, 

She carries life in her smiles, 

I'll hold her hand and travel miles, 

She inspires all my themes,   

She is the daughter of my dreams.  

Love is in the air

Chocolates and roses are everywhere,  

Birds are singing, treating each other fair, 

Short as it is, February is a month of love, 

Coming with cloud smiles from above. 

Love is in the air 

Ladies and gentlemen do your hair, 

It's time to release love on your mind, Tell someone she's one of a kind. 

Love is in her smile 

She showed all that down the aisle, 

Beautiful flower, soul, angelic face, 

It's not my power or abilities just grace. 

Love is in her speech 

This year it's on Sunday, love will preach, 

Valentine's Day always follow her birthday, 

Her name is love, she brightens everyday.

I have something romantic to tell you,

Laughing together is what we do, 

Great love is what I see in your eyes,

Holding hands together we will rise. 

Within your eyes I always see a spark, 

We sing, pray and dance in the park, 

Together we make a statement of love, 

You are my number one truelove. 

I reminisce every moment and smile, 

Especially when you walked down the aisle, 

You will always be in my mind, 

You and I will always be twined.

We've seen life with ups and downs, 

We've heard voices bringing new sounds, 

We've seen families trying to cope, 

We've seen hopeless, finding new hope,

It's time to write history on the sand, 

It's time to unite and possess the land, 

It's time to make this world a better place, 

It's time to keep that smile on your face.

We will not go back anymore, 

We have risen from the floor, 

We then landed on the planes, 

We learnt to speak our brains.

We will live, give and we will love, 

We will receive our help from above, 

We will write, sing, reach new hight,

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, 

The rain clouds gathered too soon, 

Enjoying daddy daughter downtime, 

It wasn't poetry, just a book, a rhyme.

Nala's book had animal faces, 

My book took me to different places, 

It had half face of a lion, a black man,
A black man that always had a plan. 

Africa carries a drumbeat of wisdom, 

A lion, a warrior, head of the kingdom,

The heart of Africa, hearts of leaders, 

Noble as her people, great readers. 

Elephants the largest jungle followers, 

Lions challenging as African warriors, 

People who faced guns with a spear, 

Fought and won wars with no fear. 

Learning more about African roots,  

Mother Africa had us to institute, 

As for me, knowledge is my friend, 

As for now, this poem has to end.

There is no sparkle within your eyes, 

You drag yourself every single day, 

You've ran out of words to say.

Turning thirty is the beginning of finding sweet success, 

You are about to enter into a new exciting level of life, 

Everything that you touch, The Lord will bless, 

You are indeed an amazing wife. 

In many new and different ways you will experience happiness, 

So buckle up and brace yourself for a ride, so exciting, 

I'll be holding your hand through every strife and success, 

Thirty is definitely a milestone that is worth celebrating.
