Work Party 2017

Here we are at the precipice of the year,

It has been a great year indeed, 

We are celebrating a great year with good cheer, 

Our friends, colleagues and families are here, it’s all that we need. 

This place has the most spectacular view, 

The rooms are all top class,

Around here there are plenty of things to do, 

The vineyard looks amazing through the window glass. 

The bed provides the most desirable comfort one could ask for, 

The rooms are great size you can dance waltz with no trouble, 

You can feel the sense of a holiday before you even reach the cellar door,

The rooms can accomodate the couples but the beds are more than double. 

The food is amazing, the warmth amongst the staff, 

This place is awesome, the warmth can also be found in the spa, 

This is a place where you have no choice but to love and have a great laugh, 

A place where you find yourself singing let’s go dancing ooh, la, la, la. 

Basically our work party was the best work party I’ve ever had, 

Harcourts Boronia go all out to make employees feel extra special, 

My wife also had a great time I must add. 

For every employee to feel special in a workplace, it's essential.

What did I do right?

This is a question I ask myself day and night,  

It all started by simply taking that flight, 

I was suppose to be unavailable, 

Setbacks in life made me available. 

She is more than perfect for me, 

That’s why I went down on one knee, 

So that when she said yes I’d quickly get up and hold her, 

They were definitely right when they said favour ain’t fair.  

Beautiful, gorgeous, attractive and pretty are inadequate, 

For her I need new words with extra weight, 

Flowers are beautiful but she’s way better than a flower, 

The look in her face carries more power. 

Between myself and the pen, my heart can be laid on the table, 

My words only come out because my lungs and my voice are able, 

I can’t shake the idea that we need new words, 

We need new songs, new language or just to sing like birds. 

My wife makes my life honey that can only be heavenly manufactured, 

She came into my life and made sure my heart was remanufactured, 

She takes care of me and she’s given me 2 beautiful daughters,  

They are best friends, close in age and lookalike sisters. 

What did I do right?

Just after South Africa has been flooded like never before;
We were told that Melbourne will have more rain fall over the next few days than it usually does in one whole season! 😲

Blogger Stopped Upgrading

Due to a constant change and upgrades of iOS in iPhones, 

Blogger couldn’t keep up with the challenge, 

So every post I’ve put on my blog, the blogger app just crashed, 

I know right! I write everyday but it looks like technology can’t keep up. 

What did I learn from all this? 

If you’re exposed to a new environment, 

You have to keep up with that environment that you’re exposed to, 

If you have a job to do and you’re not qualified, 

Train more, do more and be more in that job. 

As believers we believe in changing the atmosphere, 

But if you’re a nonbeliever you just have to rock that environment, 

Be the best thing around, a bigger person, 

Be cool and all that but just rock that place. 

I believe that if I’m not bringing anything different to an environment then there’s no point for me to even be there, 

I hope that my words speak volumes into your life, 

I don’t care about recognition and all that, 

I just want to make an impact even if it’s in one person’s life. 

I’m allergic to negativity, negative thoughts, negative energy and all that, 

I’m addicted to positivity, positive thoughts, positive energy, positive comments and positive lifestyle, 

I want to leave this world better than it was,    

Everyday I aspire to make an impact in someone’s life, online or offline.

Now that I have two girls, 

I have to clarify which one I’m writing about, 

The one with short silky curls, 

The one who grabs everything so swiftly without a doubt. 

She likes to sing with her loud deep voice, 

She likes to kick in the bath and have a great time, 

She loves veggies and cucumber is her favourite choice, 

She enjoys the songs I write for her and every rhyme. 

If you know my two girls you’ll already know, 

She looks at me with her bright eyes and smiles, 

It’s a life changing experience for me to see her grow, 

I miss her dearly when I’m at work and travelling miles. 

You still have no idea which daughter I’m talking about do you? 

Well that’s alright I’ll invite her into your world, 

Actually you should ‘cause I’ve given you more than one clue,

Three Chillies

My grandfather was a soldier, 

He fought in World War ||,

That must have been too much for every man’s shoulder,  

To be honest I don’t think my feet would have fitted even in his single shoe.

You probably wonder why I titled this poem Three Chillies, 

I nearly called it Remembrance Day, 

Which is what today is, but it only makes me think of my grandfather and his chillies, 

He was a brave man and remains a hero ‘till this day.

He used to eat three chillies every time before he went to war, 

He did it to prepare facing any challenge, 

From what people saw and shared I’m sure he saw more, 

A man with a gun, changing the magazines while hoping for change.

I’m sure there are lots of people like him out there, 

Whose shoulders we are standing upon, 

Whose presence is as thin as the air, 

We’ll always remember them now that they are gone.

We are Going on a Holiday!

That what my daughter heard, as my wife and I were planning,
She took the conversation and made it hers as always,
She got very excited and thought that from that moment we were going,
When it comes to owning conversations and getting excited, she has her ways.

I got in the car one day to go to work,
Nala cracked it as she thought I was going on a holiday without her,
I think to talk about this we need to text each other or something even when we’re doing housework,
She’s been talking about it all week, we didn’t intend for her emotions to stir.

Yesterday she told her teachers in school,
When I was her age I didn’t even know what a holiday was,
She must think that as her parents we are really cool,
It was clear that without going on a holiday we can’t get in any of the cars.

Last night after finishing work, I loaded the car and she was really excited,
She kept repeating that we are going on a holiday,
She knows that as our kid, she doesn’t even need to be invited,
She sang all the way to Rye last night,
I’m sure that she’ll have a great time everyday.

South Africa Unite!

Here we are, standing at the precipice of liberation, 

Reflecting on our prisoned minds, analysing every situation, 

Carefully watching every word, 

But now travelling all over the world. 

South Africa Unite! 

We all know the history, but it’s now time for the future, 

Embrace each and every culture, get everyone in the picture, 

We are all humans! It doesn’t really matter what colour you are, 

When you are confident in yourself you don’t get intimidated but shine from within like a star.

We’ve always wanted to give each other hugs, celebrate our differences! We’ve long waited, 

Now that we are here, this liberation needs to be celebrated, 

We now can if we choose to travel and live overseas, 

We can now freely love each other and even share the same house keys.

If you need a friend, I’ll be there,

Who Am I?

I am a little princess born of an amazing King and Queen, 

I was created to be awesome and to win, 

There was a party in heaven when I was made, 

I was created to be strong and powerful and to give this earth an upgrade. 

Mommy and daddy might be different but they love me the same way, 

They want the best for me each and everyday, 

They daily give me kisses and smiles,  

To be together, they had to travel miles. 

I am beautiful and I have beautiful hair, 

My beautiful eyes show me who is out there, 

My little ears bring me the sound from the world, 

And my little mouth brings out every clever word. 

My tiny hands make creative projects, 

I can make a house with different objects, 

I can kick my feet in the air, 

I can also run with them to get over there. 

Mummy and daddy know different languages, 

But now that I know what language is, 

I can tell you that love is a language we speak and unity is what we see. 

Mommy and daddy love me so much and they are very proud of me.

My Better Half

Thought I’d share some of the greatest moments in my life when I had no hair! 😂 If it’s only one thing I did right in my lifetime, it has to be marrying my best friend, my girlfriend, my better half, my gorgeous wife, amazing mum, my endless love!

What are You Going Through?

I see you smiling, laughing and dancing, 

I see you angry, yelling, complaining, what are you going through is what I'm asking? 

People act for a certain reason, 

Usually it's not what they are going through that season. 

People who are smiling doesn't mean they don't have problems; it only last for a while, 

In fact they can hide their problems in their smile, 

Sometimes the most depressed people are laughing the loudest in the room, 

Life is not what it seems; never assume. 

Sometimes the most dancing person is just trying to shake off all the problems, 

Trying to forget all the unending quarrels, 

Sometimes holding hands with your partner doesn't mean that everything is perfect, 

Somehow all life's problems for one mind conflict when they connect. 

You don't have to pretend to the world, 

Get help, be real, you will be healed by every wise word, 

Facebook smiles should be exceeded by your real smiles, 

People should sense your joy from miles. 

Stop acting as if you are okay, if you are not, 

Get out of the kitchen if the fire is too hot, 

People I looked up to growing up had 99 problems like Jay Zee, 

Really happy people can help you to be also free.

Out of all the people that can stop you from achieving your dreams, you are the only one, 

If you can convince yourself that you can make it regardless of your situation then there will be none!

On My Day Off

I like to stay at home with my kids, 

And set free the ribs of my ribs, 

Let her go and do some shopping, 

Without emptying the bank account, that's what I'm hoping.  

I like to give my wife time without the little ones, 

I'm sure she gets tired every time my older one runs, 

I like to help grow her business, 

Sometimes it's not easy in this busyness. 

I like to take my kids outside for fresh air, 

Before they even need me I'm already there, 

The best way to make them smile is to smile first, 

I give them something to quench their thirst. 

There's nothing I love more than spending time with my family, 

They are an integral part of me, 

I'm daily overwhelmed by their cuteness, 

I like to pick them cute things to dress. 

My wife is the best woman I've ever known, 

She deeply loves me and making sure that I'm never alone, 

I love her to the moon and back, 

We always have each other's back.

This doesn't make much sense until you start giving your time, your money, your love, your smile in fact yourself. 😊

The world taught us to receive, 

Jesus taught us to give, 

He taught us how to love well, 

And to have great stories to tell. 

Some people don't understand how can you gain the life that you give, 

They don't understand how much peace you have if you forgive,  

People just wanna know that you care, 

When they are down, they want to know that you'll be there.
