New Life's Meaning

You came to me with a new life's meaning, 

You transformed the way I was feeling, 

You turned around what was normal,   

You added more pages to my journal. 

When you came into my life, I had more to write about, 

You're the Queen of my heart no doubt, 

I wouldn't want life any other way, 

You're an inspiration in my life everyday. 

The way you love and believe in other people, 

You inspire me to daily write a sequel,  

Pouring my heart out through art for a number of years, 

Because of you all my fears and tears disappears. 

I met you as I took a mic to sing, 

After five years I bought you a wedding ring, 

I knew way before that you were the one,  

I wanted us to have peace when the wedding was done. 

Today we are a parents of two, 

Our kids influence everything we do, 

Our plenty of joy and radiant dawn are daily new, 

I love my family more and more everyday and I know you do too.

Open Arms

I wake up each day with open arms, 

To pray and be thankful for the day ahead, 

Love in my heart daily burns, 

God watched me over while I was still lying on my bed. 

My paths are great 'cause I'm daily led, 

It's so exciting like that book I never read, 

The book I never read is my own,

Now I'm daily writing it on my iPhone. 

It's so bad I know, 

All these gadgets are hard to let go,

Now in my house it's like iEverything, 

It's like focusing on iSelf and to me that's a bad thing. 

We now live in and individualistic world, 

A world of iPods, iPhones, iPads, iWatches people barely say a word, 

iWorld, our hands are too busy and before we know it we are all alone, 

One day when we are sick of these iGadgets people will be gone. 

It's iWord vs your word, why don't you close your phone for iHug, 

Let go of your distractions, just pull off the plug, 

iLife is too short and so is yours, 

Open arms will open doors.

Happiness increases productivity,

Stay away from all the world's negativity, 

Be careful on your friend's selectivity,  

Choose the good ones to sustain your positivity. 

The reality is there are challenges in life, 

Life has a proclivity of knocking you down, you have to survive, 

In stormy seas you have to learn how to swim and dive, 

Once you've succeeded give someone a high five. 

Remember that someone out there is pulling a door that says push, 

Laugh about it to handle any life's ambush, 

You have to tell the loud voices in your life to shush, 

So that you can enjoy the miracles that might come through a burning bush.

Steadfast Love

We live in a day and time where we can daily make our choices, 

Visit places we like and raise our voices, 

We live in a day and time where we have equal rights, black and white, 

Male or female, people of any race can now choose what to write. 

We come a long way though,

Where we couldn't freely do what we know, 

We couldn't sing, we couldn't dance, 

We were restricted in every chance. 

In South Africa during apartheid, 

It was illegal to make a white girl your bride, 

Interracial marriages got people into trouble,  

Those who did get married secretly  lived in a bubble. 

My wife and I share gender and colour oppression experience, 

That's one thing we can both relate to and it made a big difference, 

Somebody lied and told us we're inferior so we embrace each other,  

I treat her like a Queen, she treats me like a King rather. 

Together we form a strong force, 

Our compasses track our course, 

We choose to live for today not the past, 

And because of that our love is eternal and steadfast.

Children's Books

After having 2 children and a great response from my 2 poetry books,

I've now decided to write children's books. Yay! 

I love reading those rhyming stories and Nala my first born loves listening to them. 

If you've noticed I've posted a start of my kid's story yesterday. 

This will factor different ages and stages of children's lives and the story will grow with the kids. 😃

I'm really excited about this as I'll now write books in series. 

Yep! 

Expect lots and lots of books from me in the future. 

Those who know me very well will tell you that writing is a true passion of mine and reading is one of the things I really enjoy and love. 

Please comment, suggest or even criticise as I post these short kid's stories. 

After all adults read these stories for the kids, so really they are for everybody. 😃

Kacie the Whitehorse

Once upon a time there was Kacie the white horse, 

She enjoyed running and she had a strong force, 

She was energetic, young and very smart, 

She was a great horse right from the start. 

One day Kacie was neighing as she was in a good mood, 

She started galloping as she saw some good food, 

After she ate, she went to a long and wide river for a drink, 

A place she really liked to rest and think. 

Kacie's dream was to visit a different place, 

A place where there are different people and a new space, 

She wanted to make friends and have a great laughter, 

Play, sing and dance with them thereafter. 

The sun was out, the sky was blue, it was heavenly, 

Kacie looked up to the sky and she saw a bird called Melody, 

Melody was singing and she had a beautiful voice,  

She flew down to the ground and Kacie was her first choice. 

Melody really loved singing for Kacie, 

She loved that Kacie was strong and racy, 

They had joy and laughter that never ends, 

Kacie and Melody became best friends. 

Flexibility

Life is more exciting when you have flexibility, when you can spontaneously do something amazing and something new. 

Happy Father's Day South Africa

This is how close my dad and I were. He was a great man, my best friend and took pride in all my achievements. My schoolmates I'm NOT sorry for always taking the first position in class, I had a dad waiting to be proud again and again back home haha! 

After 15 years I still miss him like he left today. His sense of humour, kindness, care, smiles, jokes, songs, karate training, dancing moves, cooking, and prayers. We even used to match our clothes. I miss my dad everyday more than anything. He was my hero, my best buddy, my rock, my hope and my daily joy. 

He was a great example, he loved mum unconditionally and he showed me the importance of marriage. He taught me to become a better man, never to give up and to fight for my dreams. 💪🏾

The Life of an Orange

They soaked the seeds in water overnight, 

Covered the soil before the sun was bright, 

Covered the pot with plastic for the seed to grow, 

Then the plastic was gone and I started to show. 

People will do anything for my vitamin C, 

Harvest me and take me to places I never wanted to be, 

Take my skin and throw it in the bin, 

All the places I've never been. 

Some rip me with their hands, 

From that moment that where it all ends, 

Some come to me with that sharp knife, 

Then everybody knows that's the end of my life.

A boy who took a bullet for our world, 

He ran and died fighting for his own life, 

Gunshots did not let him speak any word, 

A twelve year old caught up in a big strife. 

Sometimes life will knock you down on your knees, 

And those who love you will suffer the pain,  

Run fast, cry loud, and give you a tight squeeze,   

A third language forced to invade the brain. 

But we shall not be sad instead be glad, 

That boy gave up his life to set us free, 

His sister ran so scared with her comrade, 

Now we have free South Africans to see.

Ladies this one is mainly for you,

A Job Interview

First of all let's not call it that,  

It's a negotiation and that is the fact, 

The company needs you as much as you need them, 

We all want a better outcome. 

There's a reason why Donald Trump is a President and a multibillionaire, 

Some will say it's because of his hair, 

No that's not why, he knows his worth, 

That what you need to know from birth. 

People don't have to understand or even like you, 

But you have to be honest with yourself in everything you do, 

Not everyone will like you, you're not money, 

Be sour if you have to be but also be sweet as honey. 

I'm naturally good at what I do, 

Before I went to Uni I already knew, 

But I had to get that degree just to impress you, 

I appreciate my own effort and I hope you do too.

I'm not the only one shopping, companies are shopping too, 

You already like me, you didn't call me out of the blue, 

Employing me is long overdue, 

That's what everyone should be saying in their job interview.

Why?

Why did you wake up this morning? 

Why did you learn what you've been learning? 

Why did you choose the act you're performing? 

Why did you choose what you're earning? 

The secret to success is in finding your why, 

Your why will elevate you beyond the sky, 

When they hide information from you, your why will qualify, 

When you need more in life, your why will satisfy. 

The world is upside down, 

People want to get up by bringing others down, 

They are selfish and after an unearned crown, 

Personally I think people need to slowdown. 

We are now living in a litigious society,  

People suing each other just to get rich, where is humanity? 

Always seeking to violate authority, 

Where did people come up with that kind of insanity? 

People think more about where they gonna live and less about the reason why? 

What they gonna eat and who they gonna meet and forget about the reason why? 

When they'll be promoted, which team should be selected and forget about the reason why? 

How they gonna make big decisions in life and forget about the reason why?

It's the Queen's Birthday

Schools, post offices and many organisations are closed today, 

Congested roads from holiday trips and the kids excited to play, 

It's family time, it's footy time as many will be enjoying this holiday, 

It's the weekend of the snow season, don't ask me where the snow is; 

It's the Queen's Birthday 

Traditionally, many public fireworks were organized on the Queen's Birthday. 

This was part of the celebration and the public display, 

New Year's Eve has taken most of that public display away, 

But hey it's legal today not tomorrow because you know what?  

It's the Queen's Birthday. 

Many would ask why do we celebrate this special day? 

Well Australia is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations I'd say, 

The official head of state is the Monarch of the Realms 'till this day,  

Queen Elizabeth II is in power, highly respected and has a regimented schedule day-to-day.

Land with Improvements

As I walked through this Australian soil, 

I saw improvements by people's toil, 

People have added a lot of value in this place, 

Now the housing market is kicking out every race.

Melbourne the most liveable city in the world, 

I'd say it's also the most loveable city take my word, 

A better healthcare, education, stability and culture, 

A better environment and infrastructure.

I've stayed long enough to watch buildings grow, 

A better value added everywhere I go, 

It's interesting to experience this city's movements, 

My investments are now with this land with improvements.

Have you always wondered how can shops have sales and still make a profit? 

We were overcharged from the first place. 

Why is the bread cheap and butter more expensive? 

It's not on sale they are increasing sales. 

Why does the rent increase for small shops when the big one arrives? 

There will be more traffic and the small ones will make more money. 

Why do big supermarkets always put the milk right at the end of the shop? 

They want you to see all the other products on the way. 

Why do home brands always hard to find but expensive ones at the eye level?  

They want you to buy the more expensive one. 

Why do you get advertisement on a cup of coffee, sweets near the counter? 

It's innovation, they want to make sure they get your attention. 

Why do you get more than 23 adverts before you watch your favourite movie?   

They know you'll be there for it and they've got you good. 

Why do you see more sweets in garages than petrol, get a car in the middle of the mall? 

They know that you'll be there to spend more money and sweets looks cheaper then petrol; people with all financial backgrounds will be in the mall.
