When Men Fall Short

Two men were swimming in the sea,
One was old and one was young,
In the shore they wanted to be,
As strong waves entered each lung.

The young man died 30 mitres away,
The old man was 10 mitres from the shore,
They both didn't see the next day,
They were close and still had more.

It doesn't matter how close you are,
Whether you give up early or late,
Whether you were so close or still far,
You are no different than your mate.

Men are not drawn to criticisms,
Truth be told we are drawn to praise,
Men totally believe in functionalism,
The praised man in the house stays.

Somewhere in your life you fell short,
Nearly graduated, nearly got married,
Nearly achieved it, but had no support,
Whatever it is revisit that dream you once carried.

Your victory is in your perseverance,
Something bigger is about to happen,
It's in you before public appearance,
Whatever you do find your passion.
