I'm Too Blessed

Have you met my wife? 

She literally changed my life, 

I just love loving her,

I live the life I prefer. 

I'm too blessed to be stressed, 

Her heart is my home I'm not a guest, 

She has this natural beauty,

Loving her is my choice not a duty. 

I'm too grateful to be hateful, 

She makes my love tank full,

She makes me a better man, 

Thanks God I've found this woman. 

I'm too anointed to be disappointed, 

To love her, I've been appointed, 

In each other's lives we have a say, 

That's because we are here to stay.

Sitting down to create is my favourite

Holding my iPhone and beginning to write

Applying all my creativity to create a website

Perfecting every layout until it's right

Engaging every artist and bringing light

Developing melodies and poems to recite. 

Building confidence to this conflicted world 

Young at heart but forced to grow and build with every word. 

Applying every colour to this plain canvas 

Releasing what I never received in school or any campus 

Typing these sentences to mirror the subject's letters for us.

When people really believe in you, 

When they really support what you do, 

They don't make empty promises, 

When they said they'll turn up, they make it possible. 

This is my shout out to all the artists out there, 

If you have a project that you really want to share, 

Pray about it, book the venue and send invitations, 

Your passion should be a solid foundation. 

Believe and invest in your craft, 

Spend time perfecting it don't sell your draft, 

The world is waiting for your extraordinary piece of art, 

Your wisdom pouring out, a beat from your heart. 

Here you are, standing at the precipice of your career, 

Where you'll be filled with fear, before things clear and then a good cheer, 

Don't let anyone stop you, always remember why, 

Why you're doing what you're doing, then you'll go beyond the sky. 

Your craft is an extension of yourself, 

Co-create with others, art is not just for oneself, 

Don't respond to the mimics that preceded before your real supporters, 

Motivate, inspire, stand tall and create art without borders.

She

She sleeps peacefully besides me, 

Without her I don't know where I'll be, 

She's my eyes where I can't see, 

For my heart, she'll forever hold the key. 

Heat

Every successful artist out there somehow had to accept constructive criticism. If you also want to be successful as an artist you have to do the same. If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen. 

Now! Rise!

You've been through so much, 

Things you wanted, you couldn't touch, 

For so many years success was out of reach,

You were not even allowed to make a speech. 

This poem is not about gender, nor politics, nor race, 

It's about creating space after space, 

Tables turn, bridges burn you live and learn, 

It's your own sweat that you earn. 

Through the journey you'll learn more about your destination, 

It's not only you who will succeed but this nation, 

Stand up tall, lift your shoulders and your chin high, 

You're part of the constellations in the sky. 

They say education is the key, but they keep changing the locks, 

So teach yourself, keep writing, keep talking until you visit TED talks, 

Even after that, continue to inspire, 

Deep down in your soul lies a flame of fire.
