My Daughter 

Transformation

When I conformed to this world,

When both of my feet were whirled, 

I accepted less than I deserved, 

My vision overshadowed what I observed. 

Everything was simply just fine, 

I didn't receive what was mine, 

I walked life's journey shortchanged, 

My circumstances were unchanged, 

When your life starts to foreshadow, 

The shining light casts a shadow, 

People start to look at you funny, 

Just when your world gets sunny. 

It wasn't up until I cared less, 

Everyone is in some sort of a mess, 

It's a miracle, eyes have not seen, 

Some people work hard just to stay clean. 

I changed my mind and my life,  

I claimed what's mine and my wife, 

I'm attacked for my strong core, 

I'm dearly loved and I deserve more.

Trust is a journey, 

In this world of platitudes. 

What will people do? 

Relationships in trouble, 

Misleading advertising.

An Opportunity

I have something to say, 

I have stories to tell,

Before you, I have poetry to lay, 

This is my place to dwell,  

Don't cease me this opportunity, 

To store my stories in history, 

To bring unity in this community, 

A solution in every mystery. 

Don't cease me this opportunity, 

Let my poetry motivate various artists, 

Let me be the catalyst of common unity, 

Let my words rescue them when times are the hardest. 

If the world miss this there'll be poetry half recited, 

There'll be melodies half sung, 

This poetry will keep communities united, 

There'll be desire like that poet who's still young. 

Some people still have their canvases half painted, 

Some have greatest stories that are untold,

These words will create their worlds and canvases will be repainted, 

This is my story and their story only just half told. 

 

An Opportunity 

Plugged In

Power comes from a certain source, 

It comes with a specific course, 

It does not matter where you've been, 

Just as long as you are plugged in. 

Lights just need to be connected, 

To shine brightly as expected, 

To have greatness out of your skin, 

Just as long as you are plugged in. 

Everybody needs ignition,  

To wisely complete their mission, 

Let love be your daily twin, 

Just as long as you are plugged in. 

It's time to subdue or conquer, 

It's time for your soul to anchor, 

It's surely time for you to win, 

Just as long as you are plugged in.
