Kacie the White Horse (Book 3)

After the heavy rain the sunshine came and the earth and the sky were  covered by the colours of the rainbow,  

The birds were singing and the flowers started to show, 

The cows, the goats and sheep were still grazing as the grass started to grow, 

All the other animals rejoiced and embraced the beauty of nature that you and I would know. 

Kacie and Melody started to sing a mateship song, 

The white rabbit joined and other animals sang along, 

The sound came beautifully big and strong,  

All the animals were happy, they were where they all belong.

Kacie the White Horse (Book 2)

In the midst of complete wilderness, stood a steep mountain, 

On the left hand side there was a waterfall flowing like a water fountain, 

Kacie and Melody's friendship was enough to obtain, 

But this nature's bonus beauty was then followed by the rain. 

Kacie and Melody love the wet weather, 

It wets Kacie's white fur covering her leather, 

It wets each and every Melody's top feather, 

They enjoyed their friendship and time together. 

Kacie and Melody ran to the mountain top, 

The adrenaline and laughter on their way didn't drop,  

Regardless of how much they loved each other, these two could never swap, 

Whether it's pouring wet rain, Kacie and Melody will never stop.  

Then in a strong, stormy wind they noticed a moving trees' habit, 

There's a very fast fellow who's found a bushy home to inhabit, 

Could this be an opportunity for a new friendship? Could this be it? 

Look over there, it's a white racy rabbit. 

They all raced towards the same direction, 

Suddenly there was a very strong connection, 

They slowed down as they approached the peak of the mountains section,  

The rain stopped, the sun came out and there was a rainbow as they stood at the top with hugs, laughter and kisses, they all enjoyed this moment of perfection.

It takes a village to raise a child, 

Every grown man I've known is my dad,  

Every grown woman I knew was my mum so I smiled,  

Every woman and man around my parent's age is my mum and dad. 

Whenever I visited my neighbours they fed me as their own, 

I used to go to people's homes, kneeled near the door before they offered me a seat, 

Respect is something we've always shown even when we've grown, 

We respected everyone including the stranger on the street. 

When there are no empty seats for adults left in the bus, it is a disgrace not to offer yours, 

The behaviour of an African child reflects the kind of home they come from, 

The African child has to be at his best behaviour to go home and find open doors,  

If they misbehaved someone will always go home and tell them. 

An African child is taught to help elders with their groceries and refuse any money offered as compensation, 

Not because that child has lots of money of course, but the lesson is for people to be kind to one another, 

To build a better and a united nation, 

The one that will fight, get out of their way or do anything to help each other. 

An African child is taught not to look someone elderly on the eyes, 

Something we had to unlearn for job interviews as it means something else to the West, 

Africa is not a place you just see it's a place you feel, it has lots of genuine smiles, 

African people don't have much but they surely have more music, more dance and more fun and free spirit than the rest.

Nature is all we need

The greatest gift you can give somebody is your time, 

Listening to their story and not infusing your own, 

Time is something you give selflessly because you never gonna get it back again, 

I often find that the more I listen to people the more pain I discover that they are trying to eradicate.

You can listen to the sample and make your own choice, 

You make the choice whether you want to buy the song or not. 

I feel like we've had no choice in the past, 

We liked the song on the record, cassette or cd and we had to buy the whole album, 

I don't care what artist it is, I've never bought an album and liked the whole thing, 

The freedom that we have these days is amazing.

That's why I'm so excited that I'm able to put my new album on iTunes,

Wide Awake

It's 3 o'clock in the morning and I'm wide awake, 

I'm staying up all night for my children's sake, 

I have work this morning, that's right there is no break, 

I'm not complaining but I'm warning those who think life is just a piece of cake.

I have a career and the kids and I'm still dreaming, 

Sometimes one kid will wake up and the other one starts screaming, 

This is not an every night mandate though, so you can keep believing, 

When you have a career and kids sometimes there will be no sleeping.

The advantage out of this is that I get to cuddle my kids, 

Feel their heartbeats and their tummy under their ribs, 

Feel their warmth as my face feels the movement from their eyelids, 

Throwing their tiny arms around me, I can feel their chest moving in the absence of their bibs.

I'm wide awake even when I try to close my eyes,  

I've realised that having kids has more rewards and meaningful price, 

Every right goes with a responsibility take my advise, 

I'm raising my kids out of love and not expecting their thank you when they are old and wise.

It's My Birthday Today

Love is all I need today, 

I have lots of things to share but let me share about this special day, 

I was born around the times of the world's famous floods, 

Lots of life in motion in my family comes from different people's bloods. 

The things we like, the food we eat, the places we like to see, 

I used to finish my exams at Uni and sit on the peer just so that I can see the sea, 

Enjoying the train of my thoughts and the fluidity of mind, 

Delivering the world's most powerful speech with such eloquence and my better half by my side and our little fingers twined. 

Let me remind you that where you come from doesn't really matter, 

What matters is where you are going and those with discernment can already see where this poem is going if you don't you'll catch it later, 

I no longer write poems, I diagnose your pain while holding the needle with your cure, 

I like to walk with people and share wisdom while taking a tour. 

I'm from the dust of Durban and now living in the most liveable city in the world, 

I love people and writing is part of my being take my word, 

They say it's better to have it and don't need it than to need it and don't have it, 

I say, look at your life feel your breath touch the earth and know your worth and enjoy life bit by bit. 

It's My Birthday Today

Here is daddy, here is baba, 

Is what my daughter was jumping and shouting about as I got home, 

It's really nice to have someone who is over the moon to see you arriving at home, 

Nala is one special girl who is always full of joy and laughter, 

Your smiles and hugs is what she's always after. 

But then it got me thinking, 

How many kids wish their dads made it home? 

How many dads wish their kids would jump like Nala does when they get home? 

How many wives are waiting to celebrate with their husbands as they get home? 

I wish the numbers can be greater than the statistics in our society, 

I wish that there might be more joy in people's homes than what we daily hear on the news, 

I wish people can love each other more than ice cream itself, 

I wish that people would jump and say, "Here is daddy, here is baba!" 

Because this life is too short not to embrace things that are really important to us, 

I wish that I can say we will be here forever but I can't 'cause no one is immortal, 

But one thing I can tell you is that when your heart is right like my little girl's, 

We will all live as one happy family one day in heaven.

I'm starting a new job today, 

I'm blessed with many talents I'd say,

That's why I wake up every morning and pray, 

I want to be a better version of myself everyday. 

I've always been interested in real estate, 

Getting a few properties of my own and share the benefits with a mate, 

Invest in a piece of land and then wait, 

Wait for the value of that land to be so great. 

The best way I figured was to get in the industry, 

Sell the land with benefits and be the best agent that will bring back the dignity, 

Pride myself in doing things differently, 

Work honestly and tirelessly to have referrals pointing back to me. 

I'm a people person, I easily build rapport, 

After studying a real estate course I had to get my foot on the door, 

I've thought of getting in this industry before,
